  HOUSING RESOURCE CENTER

 

JHR operates the Housing Resource Center, Baltimore’s largest emergency homeless shelter for adult men and women.  Located at 620 Fallsway in downtown Baltimore, the Housing Resource Center serves as many as 350 people daily.  JHR operates the Center under contract to the City of Baltimore. It is open to all, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, without admission criteria or screening.

 

Many of our clients suffer from serious mental illness and are addicted to drugs or alcohol.  Our program provides a safe, warm place to sleep, showers, breakfast and a hot dinner, as well as addiction counseling, mental health referrals, health services and case management. 

 

 

Did You Know…

 

  • In 2010, JHR provided 128,878 bed nights to homeless citizens of Baltimore and served 219,719 meals
  • Case managers in our Housing Resource Center program referred:
    • 1002 clients for substance abuse treatment
    • 909 clients for medical services
    • 680 clients for mental health services
  • We helped 272 clients move from the shelter to stable housinG
  • We helped 93 clients become employed
