How do you celebrate Mother’s Day in a homeless shelter?

The staff at the JHR Homeless Resource Center figured out a way to make Mother’s Day a very special day for some of the women who live at the Shelter.  The JHR staff  donated money and held a raffle for about 70  women who live in the Shelter.   Ten lucky raffle winners received gift certificates for either a new outfit,  a manicure, pedicure or  hair styling.  All of the women were treated to a Mother’s Day dinner at a local restaurant. Not only did our staff donate the money for the gifts and the meals, they also provided the transportation and hosted the dinner. 

We are very proud of our staff members who planned and paid for the Mother’s Day.
